Framing to conserve

Conservation framing to extend the life of artwork is recommended whenever the art has any value - either monetary or sentimental. An investment in quality framing now, will prevent heartbreak and further costs in the future in restoration or replacement.

Waterfront Framing and Fine Art offers hundreds of different frame moldings. Fabric art including embroidery and tapestries are a specialty - we prefer to frame these in the traditional way by lacing onto acid-free backing.

Follow-Up Care

Framed artwork should be routinely removed, inspected and cleaned every 5-or-so years to prevent premature aging due to imperfect products and adverse environmental conditions. Waterfront Framing is happy to provide this service.

Often people have had their artwork framed before the advent of conservation framing materials and are watching their paintings, photos etc deteriorating without being aware of the subtle changes happening before their own eyes.
